Emergency - 911 All emergency services in Cochrane and the surrounding area can be contacted by dialling 911 in
the event of an emergency. Non emergency services can be contacted by calling (403) 932-7501. If you are unsure if your incident
warrants an emergency, do not hesitate to call 911. Burn permit inofrmation should be referred to (403) 932-7501.
We strive to arrive on scene within eight minutes of your emergency call. Non emergency calls are answered promptly as well.
Rural service outside of Cochrane has a targeted 20 minute arrival time.
Unfortunately there is a cost involved when utilizing our service. The Alberta Government does not fully
subsidize Ambulance or Fire Services. Billing inquiries can be directed to this number: (403) 932-7501.
EMS Cochrane EMS provides an Advanced Life Support (ALS) service utilizing trained and licensed Paramedics and Emergency Medical
Technicians. One ALS ambulance is staffed 24 hours, with another 24 hour on call ALS ambulance available. A third Basic Life
Support ambulance is also available but not staffed 24 hours. All of the EMS staff actively participates in an ongoing
continuing education program to maintain a high quality of care.
Fire The Cochrane Fire Department maintains an on call staff of professionally trained firefighters. All of the
Fire Department staff actively participates in an ongoing training program to maintain a high quality of service.
